Location
We are located within 30 minutes drive of Raglan, a small town of surfers and green minded folks, and we are 2.5 hours from Auckland. We are a 280 hectare (640 acre farm) with a private beach on the West coast.

Faerie Space
We are committed to the development of the Radical Faerie Tribe in Aotearoa/New Zealand, to growing a Tūrangawaewae or anchoring point for the movement in New Zealand .

As community-minded queers, we seek to provide a safe space for our queer friends through the development of a peaceful, rural, space. This is in contrast to spaces based on overconsumption, consumerism, reliance on alcohol and substances, hetero-normative values and the co-opting of queer culture by corporate interests.

The Farm
As the current kaitiaki of this whenua, we seek to restore the landscape and increase biodiversity through plantings of native vegetation, restoration of key ecological sites, avoidance of the use of synthetic fertilizer, performing pest control, and managing the environment to sequester carbon.

This is also a working farm functioning under biological farming and wholistic management practices, striving to honour both animals and landscape through the use of diverse pastoral systems, medicinal plants, plantings for shade and shelter, ecological restoration, ecological mimicry and the cultivation of a diverse range of spray-free fruit and vegetable crops.

Volunteers, Visitors and WWOOFA’s
We welcome volunteers/wwoofers to the farm - who work for 4-5 hours a day, 6 days a week in exchange for meals and accommodation. We have 2 caravans to stay in, with a shared kitchen, bathroom and living space. We ask for a minimum stay of one week and no costs are involved. Tasks depend on the seasons and your skills but may include: gardening, plant propagation and planting, building, maintenance, stock work, splitting firewood, weeding and general animal and farm work. We also expect you to share in the daily chores that are part of everyday shared living.

Contact
We operate a relatively sober space, it can be clothing optional, and we can often accommodate specialized diets as we have a couple of unusual ones ourselves, but let us know in advance so that we can arrange this. We are straight friendly, and you don’t have to be queer but it is a preference to support this tribe in their growth and travels. If you are interested you can email us with a bit about yourself, your plans and any particular skills you have.
